As the shadows fade
An endless river of horizons in his mind
Carry him back through time
Where his untouched drinks lay,
Where it does little good refusing these drinks

How loathsome, how incredibly loathsome reality is
In earnest faith and humility
Offer up a prayer for "the dead"
Let it come that I may liberate all who see or hear me -
A roaring, savage beast
Something absolutely insane is going on everywhere
I suggest that we both rest this afternoon or sooner
So that you and your children will be happy,
Far beyond the school of gray tombstones and gallows
"Watch your step my lover, my son"
Said in a voice of trembling tongues - an immediate threat
    Could it be that you didn't realize I was still here?
Could it be that you didn't realize that I am still here?

Shadows of our fate still try to answer questions such as these
